Richard Norman

Richard Norman is one of the nation’s foremost leaders in the conservative direct mail marketing and fundraising industry.  He founded The Richard Norman Company (TRNC) and the Robertson Mailing List Company (RMLC) in 1987, managing a handful of conservative nonprofits seeking to build their donor base.

Today Richard leads a team of talented direct marketing professionals in TRNC’s Leesburg, Virginia, offices outside of Washington, D.C., and spearheads award-winning strategies for nonprofit and political fundraising for the most prominent candidates and organizations in the conservative movement.

Named “Republican Fundraiser of the Year” in 2012 by the American Association of Political Consultants, Richard has raised more than two billion dollars for Christian and conservative candidates, committees and organizations through direct mail, telemarketing, TV, radio and digital fundraising, and has worked with more than 300 politically conservative 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations, political action committees and candidates over his 40-year career in direct marketing.  Nearly every conservative organization that uses direct mail fundraising has worked with Richard somewhere along the way.

Richard has crafted winning strategies and produced breakthrough packages for dozens of candidates at the state and federal levels, including six presidential campaigns and dozens of U.S. Senate, congressional, and gubernatorial races.

His fundraising efforts broke previous records for individuals and organizations including Oliver North, The Republican National Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.   Richard was a key RNC consultant for direct mail fundraising, producing both house and prospect mailings, including one house appeal that broke the record for the most funds ever raised for one mailing.  Later, he provided fundraising services for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), becoming the first fundraiser to have provided such services for all three national party committees.

His additional notable efforts include record-setting fundraising for the Jesse Helms 1984 U.S. Senate re-election campaign, the Oliver North for U.S. Senate campaign, The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Friends of Herman Cain and the Tea Party Patriots.  Additionally, Richard was named a “Mover and Shaker” by Campaigns and Elections Magazine, and the American Conservative Union honored him for his work in helping to stop “Hillary Health Care.”

Richard has appeared numerous times on the Conservative Roundtable and is quoted frequently by Politico, The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Times.

A recipient of the “Andrew Jackson Defender of Liberty” Award from the US Taxpayers Alliance, Richard is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia and the Board of Governors for the Virginia Institute for Public Policy.  He served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Political Consultants.
